As someone who spends most of her days tracking celebrity beauty trends, it takes a lot for a makeup look to stop me mid-scroll. But when Florence Pugh’s face graced my feed wearing a swipe of bright aqua eyeliner, I was determined to track down the exact formula she was wearing.

Thankfully, Lauren Buckley, the phenomenal makeup artist behind the swipe of seafoam shared with Allure that it was the work of the Sephora Collection 12H Colorful Eyeshadow Stick & Liner ($26 at Sephora). So yes, we’re talking about a $26 find that delivers the kind of bold colour payoff usually reserved for professional makeup kits.

What I love most about this look is that it feels genuinely fresh. We see endless black, brown and burgundy liner looks every season, but finding a wearable aqua blue is surprisingly difficult. The shade sits somewhere between turquoise and pool-water blue, making it bold without veering into costume-y territory.

Honestly, as someone with lighter eyes, I’m always scared that a coloured liner won’t add enough definition, but the colour worked an absolute treat against Florence’s hazel-green eye colour, so I’m optimistic it’ll work with my blue-grey eyes too.

I'm also particularly excited about the formula. Multi-use sticks have become one of my favourite makeup categories because they're quick, fuss-free and easy to throw into a handbag. The fact that this one promises waterproof wear only makes it more appealing.

It may not seem like a natural makeup move for the harsh Aussie winter we’ve just entered, but I’m determined to make it work. Instead of pairing the liner with bronzed skin and beachy waves, I’m thinking I'd wear it with fresh skin, brushed-up brows and a chunky knit, maybe on a weekend. The contrast between cool-weather dressing and a bright pop of colour around the eyes feels a bit chic, right?

And if I’m a complete and utter failure there, you best believe it’ll be the cornerstone of my Euro summer makeup bag. I promised myself I wouldn’t overpack, but suddenly a seafoam liner seems as essential as a bronzer?

Buckley paired the liner with soft neutral eyeshadow and a hint of teal shimmer, so yes, the rest of the makeup was a bit pared back to allow the blue its moment. But the look was completed by a chic matching headband and I plan to replicate it in Capri. I’ll report back if I look tragic, but let’s stay optimistic, okay?
